How BinderDex handles account details, collection records, scans, grading estimate images, subscriptions, communications, analytics, advertising attribution, and deletion requests.

Information we collect

We collect information you provide when you create or use a BinderDex account, including your email address, account preferences, collection records, watchlist items, alerts, saved binders, grading estimates, feedback, and support messages.

When you use scanning, grading, or image-driven features, we may process uploaded card images, generated crops, scan matches, and related metadata so the feature can work and so you can revisit saved results.

We also collect technical information such as device type, app version, browser type, approximate IP-derived location, diagnostics, device and app identifiers, and product usage events. Product usage events can include app launches, registration, onboarding completion, trial starts, subscriptions, and purchases.

How we use information

We use information to operate BinderDex and improve collector workflows, including to:

  • Keep your collection, watchlist, binder, scan, and grading estimate data available.
  • Show price history, portfolio context, saved estimates, and account settings.
  • Send technical notices, support responses, alerts, and service messages.
  • Send optional product guidance and BinderDex updates by email or push when you choose those communication preferences.
  • Understand product reliability, onboarding conversion, and feature usage.
  • Measure app installs, marketing campaigns, and subscription conversion.
  • Protect BinderDex from fraud, abuse, security incidents, and unauthorized access.

BinderDex price, market, and grading estimate features are informational tools. They do not guarantee a sale price, official grade, or financial outcome.

Advertising measurement and attribution

We use AppsFlyer to measure where app installs and conversions come from. AppsFlyer may process campaign and referral details, an AppsFlyer-generated identifier, permitted device or app identifiers, IP-derived information, app and operating-system details, and conversion events such as app launches, registration, onboarding completion, trial starts, subscriptions, and purchases. Purchase measurements can include amount and currency.

AppsFlyer may share these measurements with the advertising partner responsible for a campaign, including TikTok, so we can attribute results, detect fraud, and improve campaigns. Depending on the integration, conversion measurements may be shared even when Apple's advertising identifier is unavailable. We do not use these services to show third-party advertising inside BinderDex.

BinderDex does not currently request permission to access Apple's Identifier for Advertisers. You can manage cross-app tracking permissions in iOS Settings under Privacy & Security and Tracking. Limiting access to Apple's advertising identifier does not necessarily stop measurement that uses other permitted information or privacy-preserving attribution methods.

Service providers and sharing

We use service providers for hosting, database infrastructure, authentication, analytics, error monitoring, subscriptions, payment-related entitlement checks, cloud storage, email, and AI-assisted product features.

Our measurement providers include PostHog for product analytics, Sentry for diagnostics, RevenueCat for subscriptions and entitlements, AppsFlyer for mobile attribution, and advertising partners such as TikTok for campaign measurement and optimization. We use Customer.io to maintain identified lifecycle messaging profiles and deliver optional email and push communications.

Customer.io may process your BinderDex user ID, email address, optional first name, locale, time zone, app and device details, communication preferences, and message delivery or interaction events. If you allow device notifications, Customer.io may also receive the native Apple or Google push token for that device. We do not send Customer.io your private collection contents, card images, or grading estimate images for lifecycle messaging.

These providers process information for BinderDex so we can run the service. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not publish your private collection or grading estimate images as public content.

We may disclose information if required by law, to protect rights and safety, to prevent fraud or abuse, or as part of a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets.

Storage, security, and retention

We use technical and organizational safeguards intended to protect account data from unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. No internet service can guarantee perfect security.

We retain account data for as long as needed to provide BinderDex, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and maintain security. Backups, operational logs, and fraud-prevention records may take additional time to expire.

BinderDex and its service providers may process information in the United States and other countries where they operate. Privacy protections and government-access rules may differ from those in your country. We use contractual and technical safeguards appropriate to the information and processing involved.

Your choices

You can update account settings in BinderDex, remove cards or watchlist items, submit support requests, and ask us to delete your account and associated BinderDex-controlled data.

Optional product guidance and update communications are off until you choose them. Email and push are separate choices. You can withdraw either choice in BinderDex Settings, and every growth email includes an unsubscribe or preference link. Withdrawing a growth preference does not prevent non-promotional account, security, purchase, legal, or support messages that are needed to provide the service.

Device-level privacy and advertising controls are available in your iOS or Android settings. Turning off device notifications prevents push delivery but does not change your BinderDex email preference. These controls may also limit certain identifiers or attribution methods but do not necessarily stop aggregate, privacy-preserving, or non-advertising analytics.

To request deletion, visit Delete your BinderDex account. If you purchased a subscription through Apple or Google, manage cancellation through the store account used to purchase it.
